ACS Holds First General Assembly

On 12th December 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the Florence Onny Auditorium came alive with the General Assembly Meeting of the ACS. The session began with an opening prayer led by Hon. Shakaina Page, the Women’s Commissioner, setting the tone for a purposeful gathering.

His Excellency Martell Nii Tetteh, the ACS Vice President, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, after which the swearing-in ceremony commenced. The Judicial Chair, Peter Okai, officially took his oath of office, followed by Hon. Shakaina Page and her committee members, along with representatives from the Academic, Welfare, Games and Sports, and Events and Entertainment Committees.

The highlight of the meeting was the “State of ACS Address,” passionately delivered by His Excellency William Turkson Sam, reflecting on past achievements and setting the vision for the future. This was followed by a detailed budget breakdown, presented by Hon. Gwendolyn Adjei Kyei, offering insight into financial plans and allocations.

Discussions then shifted to future initiatives, including the much-anticipated Campus Tech Boost Edition 2, the establishment of an ACS Networking and IoT Laboratory, the installation of access points for Block C and etc. Attendees also explored plans for a career after university seminar, the Ladies in Tech initiative spearheaded by the Women’s Commissioner, and the prestigious ACS Awards Night.

The meeting concluded with closing remarks from His Excellency Martell Nii Tetteh, expressing gratitude and inspiring the assembly to move forward with unity. Hon. Boahene Gabriel Kwame ended the session with a heartfelt prayer, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of purpose.
